Silica sand, as an important industrial mineral raw material, is widely used in glass, ceramics and refractories and other industries.With the increasingly higher requirements for the quality of its terminal products, the silica sand with Fe2O3 content of 400~500ppm produced by the traditional simple processing technologies such as “Crushing+Grinding+Low Magnetism+Classification”, is difficult to meet the needs of the market. In industrial production, silica sand always contains lots of weak magnetic impurities with fine particle size and poor occurrence state, like iron and titanium, which are easily wrapped or associated with magnetic impurities. In addition, there are light yellow impurities attached to the grooves on the surfaces. And the particle size of its finished product can not be ground too fine. All of these pose a challenge on its purification.
Based on that, SLon has made a series of technical improvements and specifically launched silica sand HGMS, through constant research and experiments according to the features of minerals. First of all, to remove weak magnetic impurities with fine particle size, we adjust the magnetic system structure and equipment composition. In this way, the actual background magnetic field strength can reach up to nearly 2.0T, which is higher than parameter value 1.8T, so that it provides a powerful guarantee for the separation of weak magnetic impurities. Secondly, since its finished product can not be ground too fine, we has designed unique separation area and separation channel to ensure the smooth passage of pulp. Finally, our technicians have done protective treatment on the ore passing area to avoid secondary pollution and reduce the mixing of mechanical iron into minerals. So far, a large number of practical application have proved that the new Silica Sand HGMS combined with the processing technology of Grinding+Scrubbing+Strong Magnetism can produce high-grade silica sand with less than 100ppm Fe2O3 and 95% rate of concentrates. The separation process belongs to pure physical method.
